COLOR

FOR PRESCRIPTION SUNGLASSES

Coloring prescription lenses is complex, slow & manual.

Although $149 Bil in prescription sunglasses are manufactured every year, there is still one step in the production line that requires desperate innovation: coloring the lenses. The entire manufacturing line comes to a standstill for this manual process.

Why are prescription lenses difficult to color?

Each client’s prescription demands a unique use of lens material, which implies a tailor-made batch of colors and chemicals to create the right color for each pair of lenses. The current process takes about 55mins for a single pair of lenses, it requires highly specialised labour and 12 varying chemicals – some of which are carcinogenic. If one mistake is made, the lenses are reduced to scrap and the whole preceding manufacturing line starts again.

We simplify color with tech

Our innovative tech uses one transpant dye that’s light-activated to create all the colors you need for every prescription. Unlike traditional methods, there is no need to use multiple dyes and chemicals to tailor the colors you need for every unique prescription.

One dye. 3 Simple Steps.

1. Coat all sunglass lenses in our transparent.
2. Choose your color with our software.
3. Our machine activates the color.

Benefits of our Solution

3x Less Chemicals

Rather than using 12 chemicals – some of which are carcinogenic – to create various colors, all you need in our process is 4 safe chemicals.

Fast & Automated

Our automated process reduces the time you need to produce 1 pair of sunglasses from 55min to 5mins.

No Lens Waste

Our process is completely reversible, which means you can redo any mistakes or offer your customer multiple colors in a year.
